On the morning of 23 April, Li Wei, Secretary of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee and Chairman of SDE, visited Wang Wenzong, Member of the Party Group and Vice General Manager of China Huaneng Group in Lanzhou, to exchange views on cooperation in coal mining and new energy projects.

Li Wei first expressed his gratitude for China Huaneng's long-time support and assistance over the years and introduced the industrial status-quo and strategic planning of SDE. He stated that SDE is committed to implementing the strategic cooperation agreement on energy development between Gansu and Shandong, continuously deepening the sound cooperation with China Huaneng, and building the Longdong Energy Base with high standard, to bring more boons to local economic development. He hoped that both sides would further leverage their advantages in energy production and technological innovation, deepen win-win cooperation, and create a new chapter of how two large energy companies can join hands and bear fruits.

Wang Wenzong also appreciated the support that SDE has always provided to China Huaneng. He also presented the industrial landscape, operations, energy production, green transformation, and technological innovation of China Huaneng. He stressed that SDE is a Fortune Global 500 and an A-class supplier to China Huaneng. He anticipated that the two parties would continue to deepen cooperation in coal mining, technological innovation, nuclear power, and international development, especially in the construction of the Longdong Energy Base and the establishment of a new energy system. He added that such ever-increasing work exchanges will consolidate the current mutually-beneficial cooperation and better serve China's modernization.

 Hou Yugang, Member of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee and Vice General Manager of SDE, Zhang Donghui, Party Secretary and Chairman of China Huaneng Gansu, and Chen Guojun, General Manager and Deputy Party Secretary of China Huaneng Gansu, were also present at the event.
