On 15 May 2024, Zhou Naixiang, Deputy Party Secretary and Provincial Governor of Shandong, accompanied Li Yifei, Deputy Party Secretary of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Party Secretary and Political Commissar of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and Xue Bin, Vice Chairman of the Autonomous Region Government, Deputy Party Secretary and Commander of the Corps, to visit SDE.
At the exhibition hall of SDE, Li Wei, Secretary of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee and Chairman of SDE, reported on the Company's progress in reforms, safe production, innovation, and green and low-carbon development, with a focus on the development of SDE's enterprises based in Xinjiang and their future planning.
In recent years, Shandong Energy has earnestly implemented the deployments on providing pairing assistance to Xinjiang under the call from the CPC Central Committee, the State Council, the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and the Shandong Provincial People's Government. Since 2004 when Shandong Energy firstly started to develop business in Xinjiang, Shandong Energy has actively merged itself into the local economic and social development, accumulated a total investment of RMB38 billion, and forged an integrated industrial pattern that combines coal mining and coal chemical industry on the basis of coal production with a focus on resources conversion. Now, a regional business layout that features "three industrial parks and five regions" has been formed. In the next stage, Shandong Energy will still pinpoint Xinjiang as the strategic base for implementing the Belt and Road Initiatives and providing assistance to Xinjiang through industrial development. In addition, under the strategy of establishing "8 industrial clusters" in Xinjiang, Shandong Energy will implement an innovative development mode of "resources+capital" in speeding up the building of a comprehensive, integrated, green and low-carbon industry complex, which pinpoints coal mining industry as the base, sees the modern coal chemicals as the demonstration industry and combines the electric power, new energy, modern logistics and trade as well as the high-end equipment manufacturing industries. The ultimate goal is to contribute Shandong Energy's power in achieving the Shandong-Xinjiang integrated high-quality development.
Participants of this event include relevant leaders from Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, Shandong provincial government and Jinan municipal government, as well as Zhou Hong, the Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee, Director and General Manager of SDE.
