ergy's Baiyin 1,500 MW New Energy Project kicked off construction in Baiyin City, Gansu Province. This marks a significant breakthrough in the cooperation between local governments and enterprises to accelerate resource development and advance energy security projects. Zhang Yanbao, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Baiyin Municipal Committee and Mayor of Baiyin, announced the commencement of Baiyin new energy and smart energy equipment manufacturing projects. Zhou Hong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee, Director and General Manager of SDE, and Ge Yonghong, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Baiyin Municipal Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of Baiyin, delivered speeches.
Zhou Hong mentioned that in recent years, Shandong Energy has thoroughly implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping's new energy security strategy of "Four Revolutions, One Cooperation", involved into the "Belt and Road" initiative and the “Going West” Campaign, and vigorously promoted the construction of power generation projects for "Transmitting Gansu Power to Shandong". The Company is fully committed to developing a comprehensive demonstration area integrating coal and power, as well as wind, solar, thermal, and power storage in East Gansu. This project is an important part of the strategy of "Transmitting Gansu Power into Shandong".
Going forward, Shandong Energy will resolutely implement the strategic deployments of the two provinces with high-level planning, high-standard positioning, and high-quality advancement, to create a premium project, a smart project, a green project, and a pro-people project, thereby injecting new momentum and potential to local high-quality development.
Ge Yonghong said, the Baiyin City will pinpoint the development of new energy as the basis to advance the"10,000 MW comprehensive energy base" and foster new type of productivity. The relevant governmental departments shall ensure they shoulder relevant responsibilities when involving the key enterprises and key projects, and spare no efforts in cracking bottlenecks, solving difficult problems, optimizing services and enhancing efficiency, so as to advance and complete the project construction in an efficient and timely manner and ensure its early production and operation.
Participants of the ceremony also include Yang Yongqiang, the General Secretary of Baiyin Municipal Government, and the responsible persons from Shandong Energy Electric Power Group.
During his trip to Baiyin City, Zhou Hong also paid a visit to Yang Jianwu, the Secretary of the CPC Baiyin Municipal Committee, and Zhang Yanbao, the Deputy Secretary of the CPC Baiyin Municipal Committee, also the Mayor of Baiyin City, and the two parties made exchanges on cooperation.
It is known that upon the completion, the Baiyin 1,500 MW new energy base project could achieve an annual power generation capacity of 2850 million kWhs, reducing CO2 emission by 2.4279 million tons per year. It is projected that the Baiyin 1,500 MW new energy base project will be completed and put into operation in parallel with the "Transmitting Gansu Power to Shandong" project.
