On September 23, the researches on "double carbon" (“carbon peak and carbon neutrality”) action plan was jointly launched in Jinan by SDEG and Energy Research Institute NDRC. Yue Jianghua, Standing Committee Member of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee and Vice General Manager of SDEG, attended the meeting together with Gao Hu, director of Energy Economy and Development Strategy Research Center under Energy Research Institute NDRC.

Yue Jianghua said that the “14th Five-Year Plan” (2021—2025) serves as a key period for SDEG to accelerate its pace in low-carbon transformation and development, during which, SDEG will make precise and continuous efforts in an attempt to achieve innovation, industrial transformation and conduct reforms while remaining committed to the goal of “double carbon”. It is hoped that the “double carbon” action plan should be formulated by the project team based on the actual needs of SDEG’s industrial development. The action plan should be feasible and scientific and contributes to the realization of the goal of “double carbon”.

In-depth communication and discussion have been conducted between experts from the project team and relevant personnel from SDEG headquarter and some of its subsidiaries. The exchanges focus on key topics including SDEG’s strategic planning, carbon emission accounting, environmental protection, energy conservation and emissions reduction, resource development and utilization covering coal, electric power, chemical industry, new energy, new materials, equipment manufacturing, transportation, logistics and other fields.
