Recently, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (“the SASAC”) of the State Council released the list of "SOE Governance Models", on which SDEG has successfully secured its place, marking that SDEG has entered the forefront in terms of the nation-wide SOE reform and has achieved remarkable results in implementing the Three-year Action of SOE Reform!
The cultivation of SOE Governance Models is an important initiative put forward by the SASAC of the State Council for the purpose of improving corporate governance, transforming the advantages of modern enterprise system with Chinese characteristics into governance effectiveness as well as identifying a number of SOE Models and grass-root enterprises with distinct characteristics that highly value the corporate governance and have strong willingness to perform reforms.
2021 is an extraordinary year for SDEG in its reform and development. Facing major challenges brought by the pandemic, complex and fast-changing global economy, the arduous works of merger and reorganization as well as the tremendous safety pressure, the units of SDEG at all levels conscientiously implemented the decisions and plans of Shandong Provincial People’s Government, adopted a series of extraordinary and groundbreaking initiatives and successfully completed a number of major “hardy perennials”. After overcoming all the difficulties, SDEG has secured a number of remarkable achievements that concern the overall situation and have far-reaching influence, and has achieved a good start in implementing the "14th Five-Year Plan" (2021-2025).
The fact that SDEG was selected as one of the "SOE Governance Models" stands as a clear recognition of SDEG’s corporate governance and reform achievements by the SASAC of the State Council. In the next stage, SDEG, as a model enterprise, will further consolidate corporate governance, optimize governance mechanism, stimulate reform vitality and continuously improve corporate governance and management with the ultimate purpose of building itself into a global clean energy supplier and a world-class energy enterprise as well as resuming its leading position in the high-quality development in the new era.
