On the morning of March 15, Li Wei, Secretary of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee and Chairman of SDEG, presided over a regular meeting on Shandong Energy’s Covid-19 prevention and control. The meeting participants thoroughly studied General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on epidemic prevention and control and were required to conscientiously implement the decisions and deployments of the CPC Party Central Committee and the State Council. The meeting also analyzed the status quo of epidemic prevention and control works by the 17 level-two subsidiaries, and made comprehensive deployments for combating the epidemic in accordance with the requirements and work deployments given by CPC Secretary of Shandong Province Committee Li Ganjie, Shandong provincial government and the SASAC of Shandong province as well. Chairman Li stressed to put people and people’s lives front and center when combating the epidemic, and calls for an “wartime” preparation to win the fight.
Li Wei pointed out that the prevention and control of the epidemic is of significant meaning, “one miss may lead to a complete failure”. It matters to the safety and health of all our employees and the big picture of social stability and economic development. It is necessary to beware of the current already severe epidemic situation, extremely strict top-down requirements, and the rigorous accountability system. We should make good use of all key measures, build an immunization shield that covers all employees, organize nucleic acid testing at the soonest possible time with no one untested, and call for the comprehensive vaccination as much as possible.
Li Wei emphasized that given SDEG’s large size, wide distribution coverage and enormous number of employees, the task of epidemic prevention and control is enormously arduous. Guided by the defense strategy of “building multiple shields in advance”, the focus must be on key personnel, places and links, while employing a science-based targeted approach and enhancing emergency response capabilities, as there is no turning back amid the current situation.
In the principle of "having more than one string to our bow", we should brace ourselves for the upcoming possible battles in mentality building and materials reserves, and address the uncertainty of virus by the certainty of solid work. The wartime stockpiles of epidemic prevention materials must be in place, the emergency response in place, and the on-duty shifts system in place. Emphasis must be put on how to implement the routine regulations on epidemic prevention and control, the regular meeting system, the personnel classification management system, and the accountability system for supervisors and inspectors.
Li Wei added that we are facing a major fight against epidemic and a severe challenge for social economic development, organizations at all levels must resolutely take main responsibilities to tide over difficulties and win the battle with indomitable determination and courage; must take concrete efforts to implement strict measures and tighten up the accountability chain to safeguard the bottom line of the epidemic prevention and control while maintaining normal operation and production, so as to create a safe and stable environment for the reform and development of SDEG.
