On the morning of 25 April, Li Wei, Secretary of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee and Chairman of SDE, met with Wang Xu, Secretary of the CPC Pingliang Municipal Committee, and his delegation at Xibei Mining. The two held exchanges on the implementation of the agreed strategies between Shandong and Gansu and the key project of "Transmitting electricity from Gansu to Shandong".

Li Wei expressed gratitude for the care and assistance from the Pingliang Municipal Committee and Government over the years, and introduced the developments of Shandong Energy in Pingliang City. Li Wei pointed out that Pingliang is currently closely following the guidance of "3659" and the GDP target of over RMB100 billion, while accelerating the construction of "three bases and two zones." SDE actively responds to the national strategy of "Going West" and the "Belt and Road" initiative, earnestly implements the energy strategic cooperation agreement between Gansu and Shandong, and enthusiastically integrates into the overall development of Pingliang. It is working hard to achieve "dual operations" of coal & thermal power and new energy, and promote the "Transmitting electricity from Gansu to Shandong" project, with an aim to build a base for coal-power integrated development in East Gansu. In pursuit of mutual benefits, Li Wei hoped that the Pingliang Municipal Committee and Government would provide policy support in key project construction, allocation of new energy resources, etc.

Wang Xu said that as a mega-sized energy enterprise with strong power in China, Shandong Energy has achieved well-recognized development results, especially in rapidly advancing the key project in Pingliang in recent years, which contributed greatly to the local social and economic development. Currently, eyeing the goal of establishing the national-level energy base in eastern region of Gansu, Pingliang is striving to accelerate its pace in developing energy resources. It is hoped that the two parties could seize the strategic opportunity under Western Development, tap the respective advantages and forge a model case for the new collaboration between local government and enterprise. The CPC Pingliang Municipal Committee and the Pingliang Municipal People’s Government will fully support Shandong Energy’s development in Pingliang, strengthen internal coordination and exchanges, and spare no efforts in proving the best service in advancing the “Transmitting electricity from Gansu to Shandong” project.
