From October 8 to 11, Li Wei, Secretary of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee and Chairman of SDE, led a delegation to visit Singapore and participate in the “Singapore-Shandong Week”. During the visit, he met with well-known multinational companies to comprehensively deepen international win-win cooperation.
Singapore-Shandong Collaboration Conference on High-level Openness and Conference on Shandong State-Owned Enterprises Cooperation with Singapore are important components of the “Singapore-Shandong Week”. With the witness of Zhou Naixiang, Deputy Party Secretary of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and Governor of Shandong, and Song Junji, Vice Governor of Shandong, Shandong Energy Group signed the Operational Control Agreement with Wubo Technology Company. Shandong Energy Group signed the Cooperation Framework Agreement for the Negeri Sabah Coal Exploration Project with Malaysia's Leaf Mining Sdn.Bhd.
During the visit, Li Wei met with Dmitri Croitor, Asia Energy President of Trafigura Group; Pol de Win, Head of Global Sales and Origination of the Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX); Zhang Youfang, Vice President of BNP Paribas (China); and You Zhenhua, Chairman of Prosperity Steel Singapore.
Li Wei stated that Trafigura Group, as the Top 1 enterprise in Singapore, is one of the most influential supply chain companies globally, as well as a major supplier of crude oil, iron ore, and non-ferrous metals to the Chinese market. He hopes that both parties can fully leverage their respective strengths as Fortune Global 500 companies to work together in supply chain resources integration and project financing, injecting strong momentum into high-quality development.
Li Wei mentioned that Shandong Energy firmly shoulders the mission of “leading the way and making contributions”. We are willing to strengthen development connections with the SGX, utilizing its unique advantages and development platform to provide better services and support for Shandong Energy's expansion into Singapore, and thus bringing more new opportunities and developments to the business exchanges between the two countries.
He also said that, amid diversified development in global capital markets, BNP Paribas enjoys advantages in global business layout and industrial investment and financing. Shandong Energy is accelerating its international development and hopes to strengthen communication and cooperation with BNP Paribas, particularly focusing on core responsibilities and major business development to achieve more high-quality results.
Li Wei stated that Prosperity Steel Singapore is a strategic partner of Shandong Energy. He hopes that both parties can consolidate their efforts through resource sharing and empower the industry, jointly exploring multi-type, multi-tiered, and multi-field trade cooperation paths, advancing the development of steel processing and distribution business, and creating an internationally-leading service provider for modern logistics trade on all fronts.
During the visit, Li Wei also investigated Prosperity Steel’s HG Metal Manufacturing Company and a prefabrication workshop of the City Development Limited of Singapore, in order to learn advanced experiences in green construction, intelligent manufacturing, and automated recycling production.
