On 15 July, Li Wei the secretary of CPC Shandong Energy Committee and Chairman of Shandong Energy met VIP guests Shandong Energy invited to attend the Second Qingdao Multinationals Summit at the Qingdao Regional Headquarter of Shandong Energy.
In the morning, Li Wei met Bob Shrek, the vice president of China-Russia-India regions of Komatsu Group. Li Wei said Komatsu Group has international advanced management experience and mining equipment manufacturing technology, which is significant to the coal mine automation and mining equipment manufacturing of Shandong Energy. Now Shandong Energy is implementing transformational development under China’s carbon peak and carbon neutrality and focus on new materials and new energy, and nuclear technology is very important. He hoped that both parties can strengthen communication and exchanges, complement each other’s advantages, and promote practical cooperation in mining equipment design and mineral resources development, so as to realize mutual benefits and win-win development.
Bob Shrek expressed congratulations to the new session of leading group of Shandong Energy. He said both parties have made great progress in mining equipment manufacturing cooperation and licensed manufacturing. For the next plan, Komatsu will continue to cooperate with Shandong Energy in different fields, and seek development in clean, low carbon and diversified way. Based on previous cooperation, he hoped that both sides will make close exchange, promote both domestic and foreign markets, and realized quality development.
When meeting with Su Chaohui, the vice president of Glencore China, Li Wei said, Shandong Energy is experiencing the crucial period for low carbon development and industry structure adjustment, optimize resource allocation and develop new energy industry is the key means to achieve sustainable development. China’s carbon peak and carbon neutrality has created new opportunities for development and cooperation. He hoped that both sides could catch the opportunities to carry out cooperation in mineral resources development and utilization, trade and other business areas. Both sides will give full play to their advantages and continuously make innovation in business mode and mode of cooperation, so as to realize win-win development.

Both sides have exchanged views on the realization of carbon peak and carbon neutrality target, as well as the trend of global coal market and bulk commodities.
