On June 21, the first grid parity wind turbine in Shandong Province was successfully installed by hoisting at Farm A of Middle Bohai Sea Offshore Wind Power Project of SDE. The turbine’s unit power is 8.35 MW, the largest one in northern China. The blade is 107 meters in length, also the longest in China. Zhang Baocai, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee, Director and General Manager of SDE, visited the site, expressing congratulations to the success of the installation and gratitude to the relevant staff for their hard work. Yue Jianghua, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee and Deputy General Manager of SDE, attended the event.
Zhang Baocai listened to the report on construction progress, key links and project planning, and urged New Energy Company to further implement work ethics, maintain a leading position in Shandong’s offshore wind power development, pave a way for the 20th National Congress of the CPC, and accelerate the green transformation of SDE.
According to Zhang Baocai, New Energy Company is the first second-tier subsidiary established by SDE after its merger and reorganization and the Middle Bohai Sea Offshore Wind Power Project landmarks SDE’s transformation from UG Mining to Offshore Wind Power. The new energy company should further control the costs of error correction, decision-making and communication during the process of enterprise development, and enhance its brand influence in the new energy industry by developing a batch of excellent new energy projects.
In addition, New Energy Company should value talents training, attract and cultivate more skilled professionals, and build an unconventional project team where the team members are placed at the right positions and their talents are being comprehensively utilized. The Company should create platforms for its personnel to upgrade their skills and enhance professionalism so as to replicate its success in the development and construction of new energy projects. The Company is also required to seek convergence among traditional energy, new energy, carbon trading market and power trading market, optimize management and cultivate new growth poles for SDE’s high-quality development.
It is reported that after being launched by SDE, Middle Bohai Sea Offshore Wind Power Farm A has registered continuous successes. It only took 99 days for the project to be officially approved, which broke the record for the approval of offshore wind power project in China. Within only 65 days after obtaining the approval, the first pile was successfully sunk and the project construction smoothly kicked off. In addition, the project has set the lowest record in China both in financing interest rate and in unit kilowatt cost.
