On the afternoon of July 3, the signing ceremony and unveiling ceremony of Joint Innovation Research Institute between Shandong Energy Group and Xi'an Jiaotong University was held at the Xingqing Campus of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Li Wei, Secretary of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee and Chairman of SDE, and Lu Jianjun, Secretary of the CPC Xi'an Jiaotong University Committee attended the event and inaugurated Shandong Energy Group-Xi'an Jiaotong University Joint Innovation Research Institute.
Li Wei said that Shandong Energy Group and Xi'an Jiaotong University have kept a long-standing sound cooperative relationship, jointly undertaken a number of national key research and development projects, and achieved breakthroughs in a number of key core technologies in new energy and new materials. The inauguration of the Institute is another important achievement for two sides to leverage their respective advantages and promote the Industry-University-Research Integration.
SDE will take the ceremony as an opportunity to serve major national strategies and needs, adhere to the principle of "friendly cooperation, complementary advantages, resource sharing, and common development", and amplify its strength in industries, capital and resources. As SDE cooperates with Xi'an Jiaotong Universities, we will work together to build an innovative cooperation model of research, talent training, and achievement commercialization, and strive to build the Joint Innovation Institute into a source of original technologies in the fields of clean energy, green chemicals and new materials and an incubator of high-tech enterprises, so as to make positive contributions to the transformation and upgrading of the industry and the win-win cooperation of universities and enterprises!
Lu Jianjun said that the Joint Research Institute is a specific measure to implement the instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on "accelerating the construction of world-class enterprises and pushing SOEs to be a source of original technology", and to promote the integration of industries and universities as well as technology and education. Xi'an Jiaotong University is going extra miles to enhance the construction of Western China Science And Technology Innovation Harbour and gather innovative resources.
Around the industrial needs, the two sides should establish an innovation consortium featuring deep mutual integration, and carry out inter-disciplinary fusion at a wider scope, in support of the development of SDE. Relying on the existing innovation achievements of the University, a technological innovation incubator should be established to cultivate new industrial growth drivers; the talent introduction and sharing mechanism shall be innovated to bring in overseas high-level talents for the post-covid era. Hopefully, the two sides will clarify the mission statement, accountability system, timetable, and roadmap, so as to bring every project into fruition and achieve win-win outcomes.
Liu Qiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee and Deputy General Manager of SDE, and Bie Chaohong, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Xi'an Jiaotong University Committee and Vice President of it, signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement, on behalf of each side.
According to the agreement, the two sides will put in more advantageous resources, innovate the model for the scientific research cooperation and the integration of industries and universities, and rely on Western China Science And Technology Innovation Harbour (based in Shaanxi) to create a source of original technologies and high-tech business incubators in the fields of clean energy, green chemicals, new materials, etc. In the end, a platform for resource sharing, talent training, and achievements commercialization will be here to stay.
