On Dec 2, the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province and Shandong Enterprise Confederation jointly released the 2022 Shandong Top 100 Companies List together with two sub-category lists, namely the 2022 Shandong Top 100 Comprehensive Companies List and the 2022 Shandong Top 100 Industrial Companies. Of all the companies, Shandong Energy Group, Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group and Haier Group secured the top three seats both on the 2022 Shandong Top 100 Comprehensive Companies List and on the 2022 Shandong Top 100 Industrial Companies. With an revenue of RMB774.119 billion, Shandong Energy Group ranks No.1 on the 2022 Shandong Top 100 Companies List.
The Shandong Top 100 Companies List has been released annually for 19 consecutive years since 2004 jointly by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shandong Province and Shandong Enterprise Confederation. The 2022 Shandong Top 100 Comprehensive Companies List and the 2022 Shandong Top 100 Industrial Companies List have been composed and released based on 2021 annual revenues of enterprises that voluntarily applied for the ranking after the assessment by Shandong Enterprise Confederation. The purpose is give full play to the leading roles of large enterprises so as to encourage more enterprises to grow bigger, stronger and better.
In reference to the 2022 Shandong Top 100 Companies List and those released in previous years, journalists from China Economic Herald found out the total revenues achieved by the 2022 Shandong Top 100 Comprehensive Companies reached RMB7.370498 trillion, representing an increase of 15.05% over last year’s RMB6.406328 trillion. On that list, Shandong Energy Group ranks No.1 with an revenue of RMB774.119 billion, Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group and Haier Group ranks No.2 and No.3 respectively, whose revenues stand as RMB411.135 billion and RMB332.737 billion correspondingly.
In terms of the threshold, the minimum revenues of Shandong Top 100 Comprehensive Companies was RMB23.721, an increase of 22.67% over the previous year of 9.338 billion yuan.
It is worth noting that Shandong Energy Group Co., Ltd. also ranked first in the list last year, with the then revenues of RMB675.24; Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group Co., Ltd. saw an increase of RMB122.17 billion in revenues over the past year; Haier Group ranked third whose revenues increased by RMB30.265 billion.
In addition, from the perspective of geographical distribution, the Top 100 Comprehensive Companies are distributed in 15 cities with Jinan, Qingdao, and Dongying taking the lead. Among them, Jinan has 20, Qingdao has 17, and Dongying has 14. From the perspective of the nature of companies, there are 62 private enterprises and 38 state-owned enterprises.
According to the 2022 Shandong Top 100 Industrial Companies List, the total revenues were RMB5.668888 trillion and the entry threshold was RMB13.178 billion. Shandong Energy Group, Shandong Weiqiao Pioneering Group, and Haier Group were the top 3. From the perspective of geographical distribution, Dongying has become a veritable "industrial powerhouse" with 15 top 100 industrial companies, while Qingdao has 14 and Weifang 13.
