On 11 June, SDE successfully held the symposium on efficient and intelligent mining technology and equipment for medium-thick and thin coal seam under complex geological conditions. Participants of this symposium include Wang Guofa, Wang Shuangming, both are the academicians from Chinese Academy of Engineering, Prof. Zeng Qingliang, the President of Shandong Normal University, Li Wei, the Secretary of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee, and Chairman of SDE, Liu Jian, the Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee, and Vice General Manager of SDE, Sun Xikui, the Chief engineer of SDE, industrial experts, project contractor and R&D institutes.
Li Wei said in his speech that the intelligent transformation has provided favorable conditions and brought bright prospects for the safe and efficient mining of medium-thick and thin coal seams. Although progress has been secured in the R&D of fully mechanized mining technology and equipment by a batch of industrial leaders through explorations, the replicatable comprehensive solutions have not been formulated yet. With the increase of service life, coal mines affiliated to SDE have gradually entered a new stage with unfavorable mining conditions that requires complex mining techniques. And "R&D project on efficient and intelligent mining technology and equipment for medium-thick and thin coal seam under complex geological conditions" pooled strength from top national R&D talents and institutes to tackle challenges in terms of technologies, equipment and intelligent control. The goal is to achieve full automation at the working faces, advance the building of safe, green, intelligent and efficient coal mines. It is hoped that academicians and experts offer more valuable suggestions regarding the project. SDE will take the opportunity offered through this symposium to complete project planning, pinpoint research direction, secure breakthrough in key technologies and formulate application strategy with the goal of making it a world-leading project in intelligent mining.
Presentations on the project progress were given at the symposium. Valuable suggestions on the project were offered by academicians and experts after discussions. It is hoped that breakthroughs could be made in this area and an innovative solution could be successfully formulated and replicated.
