On 10 January 2025, SDE held the 2025 Strategic Customer Symposium and High-Quality Development Promotion Conference for Yankuang Tai'an Port, attracting nearly 100 companies and organizations from industries such as coal, power, steel, chemicals, ports, and logistics. During the conference, SDE signed more than 6 million tons of long-term contracts for 2025 with 16 strategic customers, and reached cooperation intentions for over 10 million tons of coal. Particularly in the area of coal on-rail transportation, China State Railway Group promised to add transport capacity for key clients, with a 4.5-million-tons logistics outsourcing contract signed.
Li Wei, Party Secretary and Chairman of SDE, stated at the conference that SDE will vigorously promote the construction of modern integrated transportation infrastructure and develop the Yankuang Tai'an Port logistics park, ensuring efficient integration of production, transportation, and demand while enhancing the overall competitiveness of the logistics industry. Li emphasized that SDE would leverage Yankuang Tai'an Port's geographical advantages, promote digital transformation, and improve operational efficiency to reduce logistics costs and enhance efficiency. SDE also plans to integrate business flows, cargo flows, invoice flows, capital flows, and information flows through the "park + platform" development model, further optimizing the logistics ecosystem and building a win-win platform for bulk commodity logistics.
Li Lanxiang, Secretary of the CPC Tai'an Municipal Committee, also highlighted that the Yankuang Tai'an Port multi-modal transport logistics park is an important strategic cooperation project between SDE and Tai'an City. The construction of the port not only enhances cargo transport capacity but also smoothes the “West Coal to the East, North Coal to the South, and South Goods to the North” logistics channel. With improvements in relevant waterways, port cargo throughput is expected to increase significantly, further reducing logistics costs and providing more convenient transportation services for companies involved.
Dong Hui, Vice General Manager of China State Railway Group, mentioned in his speech that the opening of Yankuang Tai'an Port has improved the gathering-and-distribution system of the Watang-Rizhao Railway Railway, enhancing the overall transport capacity and meeting coal transportation needs. Going ahead, China State Railway Group will accelerate the market-oriented reform of rail freight, promote a “one-order system” for rail-water multi-modal transport, optimize the logistics product system, and further reduce the logistics costs society-wide.
The conference also held a special analysis session on the coal market dynamics in 2025. SDE presented plaques to its top ten clients for 2024. Representatives from companies such as Ruixing Group, China Huadian Corporation, and Shaanxi Yulin Energy also delivered speeches at the event, sharing their insights on future development.
As a key project in Shandong Province, the investment in Yankuang Tai'an Port totaled over RMB3 billion. The entire park has a coal static storage capacity of 2 million tons, with an annual cargo throughput of 60 million tons. Through joint transportation by rail, road, and water, Yankuang Tai'an Port will ensure national energy security, lower logistics costs society-wide, and provide crucial support for promoting the domestic economic cycle and regional economic development.
