SDE Holds A Special Meeting

published:2025-02-10

On February 10, Shandong Energy Group held a special meeting to convey and study the spirit of the Shandong provincial conference on promoting high-quality development through reform and innovation. The meeting mobilized organizations at all levels to use reform and innovation as driving forces, with practical action and responsibility as the basis to resolutely achieve the annual goals and contribute to the Chinese path to modernization in Shandong.

The meeting was chaired by Li Wei, Party Secretary and Chairman of SDE. Zhou Hong, Party Deputy Secretary, Director, and General Manager of SDE, attended the meeting.

The meeting pointed out that the conference has outlined ten key tasks for energy transformation reform, state-owned enterprise reform, and others, providing clear direction for our development. SDE must see implementing these tasks as a key political task top-down, while fully implementing SDE annual work conference’s deployments. The focus should be on seeking solutions through reform as well as pursuing space for growth through innovation.

It is emphasized to maintain strategic focus and adopt the mindset of “first ensuring survival, then seeking development”. It called for implementing “eight measures for cost reduction and efficiency improvement”, and improving the quality of economic operations. SDE should focus on strengthening core functions and core competitiveness, adhere to the “five directions”, and deepen key reforms in corporate governance, control systems, human resources, remuneration assessment, and organizational structure to ensure the completion of major reform tasks in the first half of the year.

Additionally, a mechanism for collaborative innovation between industry, universities, research institutes, and application should be established, with a focus on strengthening SDE's technological innovation capabilities. Breakthroughs should be made in coal mining, liquefied gasification, new energy, energy storage, digitalization, and other fields, aiming to create more national treasured assets. The meeting called for a realistic and systematic approach to innovation and reform, in a bid to shape new pathways for high-quality development.

Leaders at all levels must take the "five shifts, five increases, and five improvements" as a platform to enhance their reform and innovation capabilities, striving to be promoters and practitioners. Leaders should cultivate a strong sense of responsibility, mission, and urgency, maintaining a "strict, realistic, detailed, practical and swift" work style, leading by example, and making SDE’s reform and innovation efforts the most distinctive name card. The ultimate goal is to create a new era of high-quality development.
