Shandong Energy Group and Huawei Company entered into a deepened strategic cooperation agreement

On July 29th, Shandong Energy Group and Huawei Technology Co., Ltd. signed a deepened strategic cooperation agreement in Shenzhen, marking a new stage of higher-level and broader cooperation between the two parties.  Li Wei, the Party Secretary and Chairman of Shandong Energy Group, and Meng Wanzhouthe Vice Chairman, Acting Chairman and C0 of Huawei , as well as Huawei's Senior Vice President Zou Zhilei, held a discussion and exchange meeting, jointly discussing the planning and implementation of future key projects. Liu Jian, the Party Committee Member and Vice General Manager of Shandong Energy Group and also the Chairman of Yun Ding Technology of Shandong Energy Group, and Cheng Peng, the General Manager of Huawei's Shandong Representative Office, respectively represented both parties to sign the cooperation agreement. At the same time, WindSun Science & Technology Co., Ltd. of Shandong Energy Group New Energy Group and Huawei Digital Energy signed a strategic cooperation agreement. 

 

According to the agreement, based on the industrial advantages of Shandong Energy Group and Huawei's technological leadership in the field of information and communication, they will jointly promote the digital and intelligent transformation plan of Shandong Energy Group, promote industrial AI applications, accelerate the innovation of information technology, build the Group's "one cloud" and data governance system, and actively carry out business cooperation and joint innovation in more fields such as mining, power and new energy, high-end chemicals and new materials, modern logistics and trade, high-end equipment manufacturing, etc., including unmanned driving in open-pit mines, smart chemical industry, intelligent photovoltaic, grid-connected energy storage, data centers, intelligent logistics, etc.

Li Wei stated that Huawei's practical experience in information and communication technology, as well as digital transformation, has provided strong support for Shandong Energy Group. Shandong Energy Group will continue to collaborate with Huawei to jointly create demonstrating cases of industry digitalization , and bolster the development of energy industry in a quality, efficient, green and sustainable way.

Meng Wanzhou stated that Shandong Energy Group is an important partner of Huawei in the energy sector. The two sides have achieved certain phased results in areas such as mine intelligence, industrial networks, digital energy, and joint innovation. She hopes that in the next step, they will continue to leverage their respective advantages and carry out practical cooperation at a deeper level and in broader fields. 

 

At the meeting, both sides jointly reviewed the progress of their cooperation since the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement in 2021, focusing on areas such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence, critical infrastructure, digital energy, digital industrialization, and talent cultivation. Both sides highly affirmed the previous achievements and will continue to build a longer-term, more comprehensive and more stable cooperative relationship based on the existing results, promoting the high-quality transformation and development of traditional industries.

  

Shandong Energy Group has a long history of cooperation with Huawei. They began their collaboration in the field of telecommunication infrastructure in 2003. Since 2021, the two parties have made multiple breakthroughs in areas such as large-scale models for mines, industrial networks, talent cultivation, and digital energy. At the same time, Huawei has teamed up with Yunding Technology to develop over 178 artificial intelligence application scenarios. These have been replicated and promoted on a large scale both within and outside Shandong Energy Group, achieving capability spillover. They have also incubated the first comprehensive information carrying network for coal mines in China, and the related technical solutions have been adopted by industry standards.
