On the morning of October 30, SDEG's first batch of self-owned Distributed Photovoltatic (DPV) Projects got the ball rolling at the opening ceremony in Zoucheng, Shandong Province. The Project is a call to action to the energy mix transformation, the switch to green energy, and the scheduled completion of “carbon peak and carbon neutrality” targets. It is also a landmark for SDEG’s ambition to optimize the regional energy mix and expand the business of new energy.

Li Wei, Secretary of CPC Shandong Energy Committee and Chairman of SDEG, announced the opening, accompanied by other leaders.

Li Wei said that SDEG enjoys abundant resources and expansive land to develop the self-owned DPV, which is in line with the Group’s strategy and regional planning, and with the common interests of our enterprise and the community. The power generated will be self-consumed with surplus power transmitted to the grid, which can effectively revitalize idle rooftops, cut electricity costs, optimize the regional energy mix, in order to achieve win-win between SDEG and local community.

Li Wei pointed out that since the preparation of DPV Project, CPC committees and governments in both Jining and Zoucheng have offered strong support, and our subsidiary companies, such as SDEG New Energy Company, joined hands with contractors to get things done, which laid a solid foundation for the launching of DPV Project. More importantly, SDEG New Energy Company should go extra miles to ensure the grid-connected power generation at a scale of over 30,000 kilowatts, and even 50,000 kilowatts.

The first 14 subsidiary companies involved in the Project must, jointly and realistically, do all they can to bring their own resources into the fullest utilization. All participants involved must build on the common ground to realize the completion of construction, the grid connection and commercial operation as soon as possible.

Yue Jianghua, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Shandong Energy Committee, Vice General Manager of SDEG, and Chairman of New Energy Company, presided over the opening ceremony.

In the course of the event, Lin Hongyu, Secretary of CPC Jining Municipal Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of Jining Municipal People's Congress, and Liu Fashu, Secretary of CPC PowerChina Nuclear Engineering Company Limited Committee and Chairman of the company, delivered respective speeches. Then, the director of SDEG New Energy Company presented the outline of the Project.

Officials of Jining and Zoucheng, and the leaders of State Grid Jining Power Supply Company, SDEG and its relevant subsidiary companies, as well as relevant persons involved from construction companies and supervision companies attended the event.
