On the morning of July 7th, the opening ceremony of the 28th China Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair and the High-end Forum on Silk Road Cooperation and Development was held in Lanzhou. Li Wei, Secretary of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee and Chairman of SDE, was invited to the event as a leader of a Fortune Global 500 company. He delivered a keynote speech of "Sharing New Green and Low-Carbon Opportunities, Writing a New Chapter in the Development of the Silk Road, and Accelerating the Building of Clean Energy Supplier and World-Class Enterprises".

Li Wei said, the Belt and Road Initiative was proposed by Xi Jinping, the general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, to promote win-win cooperation and common development, which is in line with general trend of world development as well as the future and fate of mankind. As the main implementer of the Gansu-Shandong Energy Strategic Cooperation Agreement, SDE has accelerated the implementation of “Gansu’s electricity into Shandong” strategy, actively participated in the construction of the comprehensive green energy base in eastern Gansu, and steadily promoted coordinated development among modern logistics and trade, construction materials and other businesses so as to boost the development of both Gansu and Shandong.

Li Wei further commented that with a full range of energy resources, Gansu province serves not only as an important clean energy base in China but also the base for west-east electricity transmission project. In addition, Shandong and Gansu share strong complementarity in the energy sector. SDE will conscientiously implement the Gansu-Shandong Energy Strategic Cooperation Agreement and actively shoulder the responsibilities of “transmitting outside power into Shandong” by fully tapping the resource advantages of Eastern Gansu Coal Power Base and its supplier-side market. With the goal of building intelligent power plants featuring “safety and stability, green and low-carbon, flexibility and high-efficiency, scientific and intelligent” in mind, SDE will also strive to construct Lingtai 2×1 million kilowatt project into an efficient and green project. SDE will speed up the building of a first-class clean coal supply base in China, actively boost the production capacity of both Shaozhai coal mine and Wuju coal mine and strive to complete the construction of safe, green and intelligent coal mines during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025). Under the background that Gansu aims to build itself into a strong province in clean energy development and utilization, SDE will accelerate the construction of wind power and photovoltaic power projects in Baiyin city by utilizing its industrial advantages in new energy, forge a new energy industrial base that integrates wind power, photovoltaic power and others, and explore new collaboration potentials for the green, low-carbon and high-quality development.

With the tenet of "openness, innovation, green and development" and the theme of "deepening pragmatic cooperation and creating prosperity along the Silk Road", the Fair is hosted both online and offline, gathering representatives of countries and government departments along the "Belt and Road" and first-class enterprises at home and abroad, for a discussion on cooperation, common development, and development prospects, so as to jointly draw a new chapter of openness, integration and win-win development.

On the afternoon of July 6, Li Wei, as a member of the Shandong Provincial Delegation, attended the meeting among the leaderships of Gansu and Shandong provinces. Yin Hong, Secretary of the CPC Gansu Provincial Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, and Zhou Naixiang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and Governor of Shandong province, jointly hailed the strategy of "Gansu’s electricity into Shandong" undertaken by SDE. During the meeting, Li Wei presented work report to Ren Zhenhe, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Gansu Provincial Committee and Governor of Gansu province, and Cheng Xiaobo, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Gansu Provincial Committee and Executive Vice Governor of Gansu province, and then held meetings with Huang Zeyuan, Secretary of the CPC Qingyang Municipal Committee.
