On February 21, Li Wei, Secretary of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee and Chairman of the Shandong Energy Group, led a delegation to visit Huawei Bantian Base, where he had a meeting with Meng Wanzhou, Vice Chairman, Rotating Chairman and CFO of Huawei, and reached consensus on deepening cooperation and promoting coal-industry intelligence and upgrading. Yu Chengdong, executive director, terminal BG CEO and smart car solution BU CEO, Zou Zhilei, senior vice president and chairman of the Coal Mine Legion, and Liu Jian, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee and Vice General Manager, attended the discussion.
In the discussion, Li Wei recognized the work of the Huawei Coal Mine Legion in Shandong Energy and introduced the reform and development of SDE. Mr Li said that there is no backward industry but only backward technology. At present, new ICT technologies keep evolving such as 5G, big data, cloud computing and AI, and the construction of smart mines is in full swing, all these will facilitate the leapfrog development of the coal industry. This high-level meeting has given Huawei and SDE a vast room for future cooperation.
Li Wei said that SDE will boost the implementation of employees health management, closely follow the needs of underground and on-ground health management, and promote the formulation of health management standards of employees in the mining and chemicals industry. It is hoped that the two parties will conduct in-depth cooperation in the fields of key infrastructure and joint innovation, to achieve mutual benefit and win-win.
During the meeting, Meng Wanzhou briefed Shandong Energy on Huawei's business operation and expressed her thanks for Shandong Energy's high recognition and support for Huawei. Meng Wanzhou further commented that SDE, as the industrial leader in domestic energy industry, has actively shouldered its responsibilities as a major SOE, played a pivotal role in ensuring the regional energy security and contributed greatly to the regional economic development. In the spirit of forging ahead, SDE has fully demonstrated its leadership in the energy sector and contributed its respective power to the high-quality development of the whole industrial chain. Back in the year end of 2021, SDE and Huawei jointly signed the Strategic Cooperation Framework, which signaled the establishment of strategic partnership between the two parties in jointly promoting digital transformation, intelligent mine construction, coordinated industrial chain development etc. for SDE. Huawei will remain committed to the strategic investment in the coal industry so as to well support coal industries in achieving transformation.
Yu Chengdong highly recognized the contribution made by SDE and its subsidiary - Beidou Tiandi in applying intelligent wearable solutions in UG coal mines, and introduced Huawei's strategy and plannings on end-user business segment.
Li Wei also visited Huawei Cloud Poulenc exhibition hall, F5G Optical Innovation Lab, Intelligent Vehicle Solutions and Commercial End-user Experience Center.
