In the morning of 19 March 2023, the awarding ceremony of the 7th China Industry Awards was hosted in Beijing. Gu Xiulian, Vice Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the Tenth National People's Congress, presented the awards to winners. Li Wei, Secretary of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee and Chairman of Shandong Energy Group and Yankuang Energy Group accepted the award and delivered a speech.
Li Wei said that Yankuang Energy’s winning of this honor is attributed to the great care of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, the strong leadership of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and the Provincial Government and the Provincial SASAC, and the joint efforts of all staff. This is not only a high degree of recognition for Shandong Energy Group and Yankuang Energy Group, but also a full compliment of the coal industry and millions of coal miners.
Yankuang Energy Group is a domestic and oversea listed company controlled by Shandong Energy Group. It has successively built the first modern underground coal mines with an annual output of 3 million tons, 5 million tons and 10 million tons in China. It is China’s only energy enterprise listed on four listing platforms in China and beyond. The history of Yankuang Energy testified to the leapfrog development of Chinese coal industry.
In recent years, Yankuang Energy Group has adhered to the guidance of General Secretary Xi Jinping's energy security strategy. Its market value has exceeded RMB200 billion, ranking among the top 50 in the capitalization of global mining companies. It has become a "forerunner" in the international energy arena.
Li Wei said that winning the China Grand Awards for Industry is not only an honor but also an encouragement and motivation for better performance. At the 20th National People's Congress, the guidance on building a modern industrial system and advancing the new industrialization has been clearly laid out. It has been put forward in this year's Government Work Report that "China shall fully, accurately and comprehensively implement the new development philosophy, promote the green transformation in terms of development pattern, and accelerate the building of a new energy system". And these guidance offer clear directions for SDE's future development.
Guided by the spirit delivered at the 20th National People's Congress of the CPC and president Xi Jinping's thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the new era, SDE and Yankuang Energy will resolutely contribute to China's national power by enhancing their industrial competitiveness, deepen SOEs reforms and transform development patterns by tapping the opportunity that Shandong has been nominated as the pilot region for green, low-carbon and high quality development. In addition, SDE and Yankuang Enegry will further promote international development, strive for high quality development by enhancing efficiency and growth drivers, and continuously enhance the core competitiveness, leadership and innovative capability in international development, and strength in global industry layout. The goal is to build itself into a world-class and clean energy enterprise that leads the industry and achieves sustainable development, and contribute to the Shandong’s practice onf China's modernization as a SOE.
