On the afternoon of February 2, the unveiling ceremony of Shandong Energy School of Outstanding Engineers was held in Jinan. Li Wei, Secretary of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee and Chairman of SDE, and Luo Gongli, Secretary of the CPC Shandong University of Science and Technology Committee, jointly unveiled the plaque of the School.

Li Wei stated that the establishment of Shandong Energy School of Outstanding Engineers marks an elevation in cooperation based on the "Strategic Cooperation Agreement" between Shandong University of Science and Technology  (hereinafter “SDUST”) and Shandong Energy. It signifies that a new  milestone is built for the integration and collaboration of both parties.

Li Wei said that the joint establishment is a practical action to promote the integrated development among industry, university, and research. It will surely pave a demonstrable cooperation way that is replicable across both the academic and business communities. Shandong Energy will utilize its industrial, resource, and financial advantages to fully support the School’s development. Together with Shandong University of Science and Technology, we aim to create a shining model of how universities can realize win-win scenario with enterprises. By focusing on national industrial upgrading and the commercialization of the state-of-the-art technology, let us work together to build the School into the "West Point Military Academy" of the energy sector and the "cradle of talent" for industrial development, so as to contribute intellectual strength to the "Shandong Practice" for Chinese path to modernization.

Luo Gongli commented that the founding of Shandong Energy School of Outstanding Engineers was an active response to Shandong’s call in building the top ten industrial clusters, and advancing the integration of talents, innovation, disciplines and industry. It was also a beneficial and new exploration in talents cultivation by taping the synergy of industry and education, through which, the innovative talents could be supplied to empower the industrial development.

Eyeing the strategic positioning of cultivating innovative talents, SDUST will fully tap its strength in the engineering discipline under the guidance of new development concept, precisely pinpoint the industrial demand, accurately master the laws in cultivating excellent talents, comprehensively advance the development of Shandong Energy School of Outstanding Engineers, and continuously innovate the talents cultivation model that integrates industry and education so as to cultivate the inter-disciplinary engineering talents that pursue innovation, excellency as well as craftsmanship.

SDUST will join hands with Shandong Energy in promoting the all-round, high-level and standardized development of Shandong Energy School of Outstanding Engineers so as to achieve win-win cooperation, make greater contributions to the high-quality social and economic development and comprehensively advance the strategy of “strengthening the nation through education”.

At the unveiling ceremony, Mr. Zeng Qingtian, Deputy Secretary of the CPC SDUST Committee and President of SDUST, presented the“Notice on the Establishment of Shandong Energy School of Outstanding Engineers.” Mr. Liu Qiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shandong Energy Committee and Vice General Manager of SDE, and Mr. Zhuge Fumin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC SDUST Committee and Vice President of SDUST, signed the University-Enterprise Entrusted Training Agreement on behalf of each party.

Mr. Ru Gang, Vice General Manager and Chief Auditor of SDE, chaired the unveiling ceremony.
